The ACR Nauticast is a Class A Universal AIS transponder with integrated keyboard and display, professionally refurbished.
Overview
The Nauticast is a Class A AIS transponder built to meet SOLAS and Inland AIS carriage requirements, with the transponder, keyboard and display combined in a single housing of roughly 28 x 20 x 6 cm. It broadcasts static, dynamic and voyage-related data — MMSI, vessel name, position, course and speed — to other AIS-equipped vessels and to shore stations, which improves situational awareness at night, in radar blind spots and at long range. As a Class A unit it also supports safety-related text messaging and AIS application-specific messages. Because everything is in one box, it is a straightforward installation on vessels where console space for a separate controller is limited.
