Koden KGP-915 GPS Navigator — Tested

The Koden KGP-915 is a GNSS navigator with a 4.3″ colour display and a 72-channel receiver, tested and working.

Overview

The KGP-915 gives position, course, speed and waypoint navigation on a 4.3″ colour LCD chosen for readability in bright sunlight, with large characters and colour coding that stay legible from the steering position. The 72-channel receiver works on GPS and augmentation signals, with position accuracy of about 4.2 m and around 3.3 m with a differential correction. Memory holds 10,000 marks and waypoints, 100 reversible routes and 3,000 track points, and settings, waypoints and tracks can be backed up to a USB stick — useful when a set is replaced or a second vessel needs the same route library. Six screen modes cover navigation, steering, highway and plotter presentation, and there are alarms for cross track error, waypoint proximity and anchor watch, plus a man overboard button. Power input is 10.8 to 31.2 VDC.
