A JRC JLR-20 GPS compass, refurbished and tested, for connection to an autopilot, radar or track-steering system.
Overview
A GPS compass derives heading from the signals received by several antennas rather than from the earth’s magnetic field, which means no deviation table, no influence from steel or from the cargo, and no settling time on start-up. That makes it the reference of choice for an autopilot, for radar with a stabilised picture, and for track steering, where an accurate heading is what keeps the vessel on the programmed line. We fit the JLR-20 regularly for trackpilot installations and alongside the Alphatron JMR-611 radar.
